Bluff or political promises: NABU and SAPO publicly rejected the possibility of "compromises" with MPs from "Servant of the People"
A bit unexpected, but the biggest resonance in my article for ZN.UA "Remember the ’turbo regime’. How the parliament will adopt antisocial tax laws. Spoiler — for money" was caused by the part about the assurance of the "Servants" from the leadership of the faction about reducing the activities of NABU and SAPO regarding their "activities".
The looming prospect of ending up in an anti-corruption grinder strongly restrained the legislative activity of the deputies. They talked about it a lot and openly.
That is why, within the framework of the project to return the management of the Parliament, at meetings with the leadership of the faction, the deputies from the "Servants" assured that activities are on the decline and there is no need to worry.
After the appearance of information about possible agreements, the leadership of the anti-corruption bodies publicly reacted, actually refuting the very fact of any "compromise".
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos stated that there are no agreements regarding changes in approaches to investigations.
"NABU and SAPO have not concluded any agreements with parliamentarians or any other subjects regarding non-prosecution for committing corruption crimes,"
he emphasized.
SAPO took a similar position. The head of the prosecutor’s office, Oleksandr Klymenko, emphasized that there are no "indulgences" for people’s deputies and cannot be.
"If there is enough evidence — the parliamentarian will be held accountable regardless of the surname and party affiliation,"
he stated.
It is interesting how these statements will now be perceived by the deputies who were told about the prospects of losing interest in them from NABU and SAPO.
And it is quite logical that with the promises of "social economy" of 5 million each and the distribution of the party budget, it can be the same.
The promised "golden mountains" for the sake of returning the stability of the monomajority may remain an unfulfilled prospect.
But voting is needed right now.
