Record ’business’ on certificates: in Zaporizhzhya, a scheme with fake disabilities worth 200 million hryvnias was exposed

In Zaporizhzhya, a scheme for forging disabilities for mobilization dodgers worth over 200 million UAH was uncovered.

According to police information, doctors, a former State Labor Service employee, and intermediaries for a fee issued fake disability certificates to military-liable persons, allegedly caused by professional activity.

This allowed them to obtain a deferment from conscription, increased pensions, and permission to leave the country. The investigation established that at least 500 people used the scheme.
