More than 8,000 children remain in Donetsk region: a new stage of forced evacuation has been announced in the region
Currently, more than 140,000 people live in the territory of Donetsk region under Ukraine’s control. Since the beginning of June, 3,800 residents have evacuated from the region, including about 400 children.
The information was announced at a briefing in the Donetsk RSA with the participation of representatives of relevant departments and services.
In communities located in the zone of active hostilities, about 16,000 people remain. Among them are three children living in Mykolaivka.
According to the region state administration, there are currently 8,063 children in the controlled territory of Donetsk region.
On June 9, a new stage of mandatory evacuation of families with children began. Separate settlements of the Kramatorsk community, as well as separate streets of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk, have been added to the list of territories where it is being conducted.
In six settlements where mandatory evacuation of families with children has been announced, 629 minors remain. Of these, 333 children live on the streets of Slovyansk included in the evacuation list, and another 293 — in the Kramatorsk community.
