In the Kyiv region, Russian drones killed a lyceum director, her husband and 3-year-old grandson

Last night, due to an enemy attack on Kyiv region, the director of Lyceum No. 124 “Spaskyi” Halyna Kucher, her husband, and their three-year-old grandson were killed.

As reported, in the village of Pukhivka in Brovary district, five enemy UAVs struck a two-story house where the family lived. The parents of the three-year-old boy sustained shrapnel wounds and burns.

The 15-year-old grandson of Ms. Halyna has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit. A 21-year-old neighbor who came to help the family after the strike was also injured.

The lyceum’s Facebook page posted warm words about Ms. Halyna:

“With deep sorrow, we announce the tragic death of Halyna Kucher, director of Lyceum No. 124 “Spaskyi,” teacher-methodologist and Honored Educator of Ukraine, who was killed in the nighttime attack by Russian drones on Kyiv region. Halyna was an integral part of our lyceum family… Her professionalism, responsibility, wisdom, and humanity will forever remain in the memory of colleagues, students, parents, and all who had the honor of working and communicating with her. Halyna left behind not only years of dedicated service and significant achievements, but also people whose lives she changed through her care, support, and personal example. Her contribution to the development of Lyceum No. 124 “Spaskyi” will forever remain an important part of its history. It is impossible to come to terms with the fact that a person who devoted her entire life to the future of children herself became a victim of war.”

At night, Russia attacked Ukraine with six ballistic missiles and 151 drones; air defence shot down 135 UAVs.

Around 00:40, five Russian drones struck a private household in Pukhivka. The two-story residential building was completely destroyed and a fire broke out. Outbuildings and two cars were also damaged.

In the village of Pukhivka, as a result of the Russian drone attack, the grandfather, grandmother, and their three-year-old grandson were killed, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported.
