Russians deliberately struck the locomotive of a passenger train in Odesa region: the driver and his assistant were killed

Russians carried out a targeted strike on the locomotive of a passenger train in the Odesa region. 

This was reported by the head of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Petrovskyi. 

Targeted strike by a jet-powered Shahed on the locomotive of a passenger train in the Odesa region. 

"Unfortunately, I have to report firsthand about the worst: according to preliminary information, this strike left no chance for our locomotive crew — the driver and the assistant," he wrote on Facebook. 

Petrovskyi said that when the drone threat was detected, the monitoring team issued a command to stop — the train was entering the station for the safe evacuation of passengers. 

"The sharp maneuver of the jet-powered Shahed takes mere minutes, and the locomotive crew did not have enough time to come to a full stop and evacuate themselves," he noted. 

340 passengers and the train crew managed to evacuate. None of them were injured.

 Passengers are currently being transported to Odesa by buses.
