In the Mykolaiv region, during an evacuation trip from Kherson, law enforcement officers detained a Red Cross driver who was transporting 2 affected families to Uman. According to the commander of the Red Cross unit in the Kherson region, Mykola Taranenko, the man’s documents were in order.

According to him, the police officer stopped the ambulance at the checkpoint and checked the driver’s documents. No violations were found.

After that, the law enforcement officer stated that the driver had a pale face, so he allegedly needed to donate blood for analysis. However, instead, the man was taken to a military medical commission.

Taranenko claims that the evacuated people were left without accompaniment after the driver’s detention.

“The people in the car that we were evacuating were simply abandoned. The police need to fulfill the mobilization plan. They don’t care about our fellow citizens. In fact, the person was kidnapped. The evacuation team driver was kidnapped,” Taranenko wrote.
