Elite real estate in Zakarpattia: the family of former National Police official Yevhen Koval is linked to the Shypit SPA & Resort

Journalistic investigations have revealed details about the construction of a vacation complex in Zakarpattia linked to the family of former First Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Yevhen Koval. The large-scale facility was built on lands whose accumulation coincided with the career advancement of the official.

Construction of the Shypit SPA & Resort hotel and restaurant complex in the village of Pylypets near the Shypit waterfall lasted several years. The official opening of the facility took place in December 2024. The resort includes 14 separate chalets, hotel rooms, a SPA area with pools, three restaurants, a cinema, staff housing, and a landscaped embankment.

According to registry data and investigation materials, initially more than 2.5 hectares of land (about 8 hectares in total in the region) under this construction were registered in the name of the policeman’s father, Oleksandr Koval. After his death, the property and land plots passed by inheritance to Yevhen Koval’s mother. At the same time, journalists note that the former policeman’s parents did not have commensurate official incomes to finance construction of such scale.

In addition to the Shypit SPA & Resort complex, nearby in Pylypets is the “Dacha na Mahuri” hotel belonging to Yevhen Koval’s sister Kateryna Kret. Information regarding the registration of specific individual entrepreneurs and legal entities through which direct operational management and business activities of the complex are conducted currently remains subject to analysis by authorized bodies and investigative journalists.

As previously reported by the portal «ANTIKOR», the name of Yevhen Koval appears in materials of criminal proceedings related to contacts with Denys Kolosov.
