Rozetka cannot compensate businessmen for goods destroyed in Brovary: entrepreneurs told about lack of funds

Entrepreneurs whose goods were stored in the Rozetka warehouse in Brovary report problems receiving compensation after the missile attack on August 5. According to them, the company has announced a lack of funds for payments.

This was stated by entrepreneur Anna Hetmanchuk, and the situation was shared in a thematic group for entrepreneurs.

According to Hetmanchuk, out of more than 7,000 units of her goods, only 82 survived after the warehouse was destroyed. At the same time, she has not yet been able to retrieve even the remaining items, as the inventory process has been delayed. The entrepreneur suggests it could last several more months.

During a meeting with entrepreneurs, Rozetka representatives reportedly stated there were insufficient funds to compensate for the destroyed goods. Meanwhile, fees for storing and processing goods that had burned continue to be deducted from accounts. As a result, Hetmanchuk’s balance has gone negative.

«In one day, I was left without goods, without a business, and due to severe stress, I ended up in the hospital,» — the entrepreneur wrote.

The destroyed facility was Rozetka’s largest and most automated distribution center. Before the attack, it processed over 100,000 orders per day.

The publication Mind reached out to Rozetka for comment on the situation, but the company did not respond. Meanwhile, Rozetka co-founder Iryna Chechotkina estimated the value of the facility itself at $70 million and the destroyed goods at billions of hryvnias.

More than 1,000 people worked at the warehouse. Rozetka offered some employees transfers to other warehouse sites.

The company also announced an accelerated transition to a marketplace-oriented business model. For entrepreneurs whose goods were stored in the destroyed warehouse, this means continued uncertainty regarding inventory and compensation.

The August 5 attack was the second major strike on this facility in a short period. On August 1, a jet drone hit the Rozetka warehouse in Brovary. At that time, 270 people were present; one company employee was killed, and six others were injured.
