Suspects in the Shyrshyn case previously worked in the police: one of them was in the same department as the police officer who found the drugs
In the case of the alleged planting of drugs on serviceman Oleksandr Shyrshyn, connections were uncovered between the detained fighters of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment and the police officers who searched his car. At the same time, the hearing on the selection of preventive measures for the suspects was held in closed session.
This was reported by journalists Anna Kalyuzhna and Olha Khudetska.
According to the information they published, all three detained servicemen of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment — Telman Aliyev, Vladyslav Harmash, and Maksym Lymar — had worked in the National Police just a few months earlier.
Lymar left the police in June, and Harmash in May. Harmash had previously worked as an operative in the same police department where Mark Alikhanov served in the criminal investigation unit last year.
It was Alikhanov who first searched Shyrshyn’s car and found drugs inside.
According to Anna Kalyuzhna, Alikhanov knew which parts of the car needed to be opened. According to the investigation, this is where Harmash and his accomplices could have planted the prohibited substances the day before.
Meanwhile, the patrol officer from the crew that stopped Shyrshyn’s car stated during the investigative actions that he did not know Alikhanov. According to him, Alikhanov is an operative from another department.
Kalyuzhna also drew attention to Alikhanov’s behavior after information about the alleged drug planting began appearing online. According to her data, he left the scene together with several unidentified individuals and did not participate further in the work of the investigative-operational group.
Separately, attention was drawn to the court hearing on preventive measures for the suspects. The prosecution requested that the case be heard in open session, but Judge Khainatskyi of the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv held the hearing in closed session at the request of the defence.
The suspects’ lawyers claimed that media attention amounted to pressure on the court. They also stated that the commander of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment, Oleh Shyriaiev, had planned to vouch for the servicemen.
According to the defence, the judge did not allow this.
