National Guard soldiers showed what Avdiivka looks like

Ukrainian defenders removed “mountains of swamps and ruins” in the city, in the assaults of which tens of thousands of Russian Armed Forces soldiers died. While the soldiers were heading to the position, explosions thundered almost continuously above their heads.

Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine filmed “unique footage” in the destroyed Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. They were shared on February 23 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

“Continuous shelling, destroyed houses and roads, mountains of swamps and ruins. National Guardsmen walk along the streets of the destroyed Avdiivka under the explosions of thousands of enemy shells and aerial bombs,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted.

The press service added that Ukrainian defenders held positions in the vicinity of the city for “many months.” Tens of thousands of Russian occupiers died in the battles for Avdiivka.

The footage shows a small group of Ukrainian soldiers walking along the city streets with weapons and backpacks. Around them there is black snow, shell craters and destroyed residential buildings. You can also hear the continuous blows that thundered in Avdiivka.
