Malyar names purpose of ’fake news’ about strike on Patriot systems of the AFU

The enemy launched an “information hook,” explained Hanna Malyar.

According to Western media reports, on March 9, as a result of an attack by Iskander missiles on a Ukrainian convoy, the American Patriot air defence systems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could have been destroyed.

“Reacting more quickly than usual, the crew of the Russian Iskander hypersonic missile took aim and launched a direct strike on the Ukrainian convoy from hundreds of miles away. Two Patriot launchers exploded, which most likely led to the death of the crew,” the report says. Forbes publications.

It is clarified that this could be of great importance for the enemy, since recently these air defense systems have caused significant damage to Russian front-line aviation, destroying “about a dozen” fighter-bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

It is emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have three Patriot batteries with radars, including from four to eight launchers. Two batteries and two spare launchers came from Germany, the United States contributed one battery and the Netherlands two launchers.

Comment by Hanna Malyar

According to former Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar, this military information is published for intelligence purposes. According to her, in the situation with the allegedly destroyed Patriot air defense systems, the enemy expects a public reaction, but Kyiv does not react to this.

"For example, news about the supposed destruction of our military facilities, military equipment or weapons. Certain sources report about the alleged destruction by the Russians, say, of a Patriot installation. And they are waiting for a reaction from our Armed Forces or at least someone public. Any information in this situation is a refutation ", confirmation, clarification - works against us. Therefore, the answer formula - we do not confirm and do not refute - indicates that the information hook was not swallowed," added Malyar.
