On the territory of the Odesa region, new defensive fortifications are being updated, strengthened and created. About 150 people and 80 pieces of equipment are involved in this process in the region.
This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper on Sunday, March 17, on his Telegram channel. He noted that the main goal is to prevent Russian occupation forces from capturing new cities in Ukraine.
According to Kiper, strengthening the region’s defense capability is the highest priority. The enemy is mercilessly attacking the Odesa region with missiles and kamikaze attack drones, the head of the RMA noted.
He also added that the army of the aggressor state continues to gather forces to continue waging war against the Ukrainian state.
“We see how desperately the Russian terrorist troops are pressing on our region from the air. We see how much the Defence Forces have done to push the enemy as far as possible from the Odesa region. But we must realize that the aggressor country continues to gather potential and does not stop in advancing its terrorist plans," the statement said.
The head of the regional administration said that in the region they are actively building fortifications, installing defensive lines - “dragon teeth”, anti-tank ditches and other non-explosive barriers.
