Zelenskyy appointed a new commander of the AFU Support Forces

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed a new commander of the Ukrainian Support Forces. It is Major General Dmytro Hereha.

This became known from decree No. 315, published by the Office of the President.

“To appoint Dmytro Hereha as commander of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the message says.

It is worth adding that Hereha headed the Ukrainian Armed Forces Support Forces from 2021 to March 2024. In March, Zelenskyy appointed Brigadier General Oleksandr Yakovets to this position, but in April he was appointed to the post of head of the administration of the State Special Transport Service.

Dmytro Hereha is a Ukrainian general who began his military career as a platoon commander. He also served as the 12th Engineer Regiment of Operational Command "North", headed the operational support department of the 8th Army Corps of the Ground Forces and the control of the Support Forces of OK "North".
