The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry rejects Putin’s conditions for peace talks

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also rejects Putin’s conditions for peace negotiations and notes that he voiced them on the eve of the summit in Switzerland, which starts tomorrow.

“Putin has only one goal: to prevent the participation of leaders and countries in this summit. The appearance of Putin’s statements exactly the day before the summit indicates that Russia is afraid of real peace. Putin understands perfectly well that the powerful voice of the world that will be heard at the summit will become the first practical step towards a just world,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Kyiv believes that “the participation of as many countries and international organizations as possible in the summit is critically important in order to force Russia to abandon ultimatums and move on to fair negotiations to end the war.”
