The law on demobilization should appear at the end of summer, - Ivchenko

According to a member of the defense committee, Rada Ivchenko, the parliament is awaiting a proposal from the Cabinet of Ministers to resolve the issue of demobilization of military personnel, since deputies cannot initiate it - this is the prerogative of the country’s president through the Ministry of Defence.

The proposal should appear around the end of summer, because the mobilization law includes an obligation to submit it within six months, the people’s deputy noted.

At the same time, the people’s deputy is not ready to say what the deadlines for demobilization might be. The answer to this question requires calculating the number of people who will want to leave the army, and the state’s ability to prepare replacements for them.

“According to the data that the General Staff provides us, three months is enough to train the appropriate number of soldiers who can provide the entire front line,” says Ivchenko.
