Postgraduate studies under a contract will not provide a deferment from mobilization, - Lisovyi

In Ukraine, admission to a contract for graduate school will not provide for a deferment from mobilization, as was the case before.

This was reported by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi on Facebook .

He said that over the past two years the number of men who receive a second or third degree or enter graduate school has sharply increased.

According to him, against the backdrop of increasing cases of fictitious education in Ukraine, the rules for admission to graduate school are changing in 2024.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Science promised to analyze the general level of knowledge based on the results of passing the Unified Entrance Exam (UEE).

“The next thing is that it will be possible to enroll in a graduate school contract only through correspondence or evening courses, which do not give the right to a deferment,” Lisovyi noted.

At the same time, as the minister added, the number of places on the budget will be increased from 3,200 to 7,000, so as not to deprive motivated students of the opportunity to enroll.

He emphasized that before the start of a full-scale war, about 7-8 thousand people entered graduate school. But this year, 246,189 people registered to take the Unified Examination. 79% of them are men, almost half of whom want to go to graduate school. In total this is 91,561 people.

“Now such figures look more like an anomaly. An anomaly that harms the quality of education, the economy (fictitious education creates new schemes and millions of dollars in the shadows), and most importantly, national security,” the minister noted.

Therefore, according to him, the transformation of the education system began so that it would not be a “hole” for draft dodgers.
