On Constitution Day, Syrskyi addressed Ukrainians with a request


The Constitution of Ukraine provides not only rights and freedoms, but also responsibilities. One of these responsibilities is to protect the homeland.

The Commander-in-Chief addressed citizens on Constitution Day.

It became known from a message from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Telegram.

“First of all, I congratulate the Ukrainian defenders and defenders who defend independence, state sovereignty, and the inviolability of our borders. Thank you, dear warriors! It is thanks to you that today we can celebrate this great national holiday, having our own state,” he noted.

Syrsky also recalled that the Constitution provides not only rights and freedoms, but also imposes responsibilities on every citizen. In particular, Article 65 of the Constitution establishes that the defense of the fatherland, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, respect for its state symbols is the responsibility of citizens of Ukraine.

He called on Ukrainians to join the Ukrainian army to fight the Russian invader.

“While respecting rights, we must not forget about responsibilities. No one except us will protect Ukraine! Therefore, I urge all citizens to join the ranks of the Defence Forces,” Syrskyi emphasized.
