The majority of Ukrainians (57.18%) believe that it is necessary to fight until complete victory, which means the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine within the 1991 borders, accession to the European Union and NATO, according to the results of a sociological study conducted by the All-Ukrainian public organization "Advanced Legal Initiatives" on August 9-11.
At the same time, 42.82% of respondents are in favor of the immediate start of peace negotiations with the Russian Federation for a complete bilateral ceasefire.
41.01% of respondents support holding a referendum in Ukraine on concluding peace agreements with the Russian Federation, 36.92% are against holding it, 22.07% found it difficult to answer.
60.89% believe that the construction of defensive (fortification) structures protecting the territory of Ukraine from the advance of Russian occupiers is proceeding slowly, 28.95% say that nothing is being built, and only 10.16% believe that construction is intensive.
The study surveyed 5,255 respondents aged 18 and over both in Ukraine (except for the occupied and frontline regions) and abroad, where the largest number of Ukrainian refugees are located. 50% were interviewed face-to-face and 50% by phone, via the IQR mobile application developed by specialists from the Advanced Legal Initiatives. 3/5 of respondents were women. The margin of error does not exceed 2%.
