According to public sources, the Yak-130 aircraft crashed in Kalmykia, 40 km from the city of Elista. The pilot managed to eject but sustained injuries. He is being transported by helicopter to a hospital in Volgograd.

As reported by the prosecutor’s office, the Yak-130 aircraft crashed in the Volgograd region during a training flight.

The cause of the incident is being investigated. Russian public sources write that the main version is a technical failure.
