Viktor Brahinskyi was accused of official negligence due to the flooding of the tunnel between the "Demiivska" and "Lybidska" stations.
The National Police announced suspicion to the former head of the Kyiv Metro in connection with the flooding of the tunnel section between the "Demiivska" and "Lybidska" stations. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
He is accused of official negligence, which resulted in serious consequences (part 2 of article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the improper fulfillment of official duties by the former head of the company led to the loss of tunnel integrity, the appearance of cracks in the walls, destruction and violation of the waterproofing integrity of the metro tunnel over a long period, and the subsequent flooding of the metro section.
The consequences included the suspension of train traffic between the "Lybidska" and "Demiivska" stations, as well as damage to the city exceeding 138.5 million UAH (due to the necessity to launch ground routes) and lost revenue of the KP "Kyiv Metro" amounting to almost 26 million UAH.
