The traitor Medvedchuk’s antiques will replenish Ukraine’s state budget: Faberge will go under the hammer

A competition has been announced in Ukraine for a vendor to sell jewelry and antiques belonging to collaborator Viktor Medvedchuk, including items from Faberge and Cartier. All proceeds will be directed towards supporting Ukraine’s economy and defence capability.

This was reported by the head of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA), Olena Duma. This initiative is another attempt to convert assets associated with corruption and treason to benefit Ukraine, directing the proceeds to support the economy and defence capabilities.

During searches at Medvedchuk’s residence, known as "Vedmezha Dibrova," law enforcement officers seized numerous valuables, including:

jewelry from global brands, including the legendary Faberge and Cartier; icons and cult items that are objects of cultural and historical heritage; watches from elite brands, which, according to ARMA head Olena Duma, may symbolize the "countdown to Ukraine’s victory"; coins of historical value that will adorn any collection; statuettes and antiques with significant artistic and material value.

The seizure also includes "memories" of the Soviet past: red stars and emblems that symbolize the aggressor state. The head of ARMA noted that new owners will surely find an appropriate use for them.

A competition has been announced to select an organizer for the sale of the property, with documents to be submitted by December 5, 2024, 16:00. An independent asset evaluation will be conducted by the selected trade organizer.

The next step will be putting the property up for auction through the Prozorro.Sale electronic system. This will ensure transparency and attract the maximum number of participants. ARMA will also additionally announce the auction dates and participation details.

This is not the first instance of selling Medvedchuk’s assets. Over the last year, ARMA has successfully sold several of his valuable items, including:

art collection: 16 artworks were valued at almost 4 million hryvnias, with part of the collection recognized as Ukraine’s cultural heritage; watches: for example, Parmigiani Fleurier with a portrait of Oksana Marchenko was sold for 485 thousand hryvnias, while the starting price was 302 thousand; a 2003 Maybach car, which was auctioned for 1.83 million hryvnias.

Each of these auctions has confirmed the importance of turning confiscated assets into resources for the state. All proceeds from the sale of Medvedchuk’s jewelry and antiques will be directed to supporting the Ukrainian economy and strengthening the country’s defence capabilities.

The process of realizing seized assets is not only economically viable but also symbolic. The state demonstrates readiness to effectively utilize resources obtained from confiscating the property of individuals involved in treason and supporting the aggressor country.
