Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, is the main candidate to replace Markarova as Ukraine’s ambassador to the USA.
This information was reported by MP Honcharenko.
Previously, it was mentioned that other candidates being considered include former ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk and Tymofiy Mylovanov.
Officially, the information about the intention to replace Markarova has not been confirmed. This demand was raised by Republicans even before Trump’s victory.
