The Armed Forces of Ukraine have pushed back Russian troops from Kupyansk and are controlling the situation on the approaches to the city.
This was reported on the telethon broadcast by the spokesman of the OSUV "Khortytsia," Nazar Voloshyn.
According to him, the occupiers are trying to operate in small assault groups and accumulate forces.
"In this direction, it was possible to stabilize the situation, and the enemy was repelled from the city (Kupyansk, - Ed.). The equipment and the enemy, who are trying to cross to the other bank, are immediately destroyed by both our fire means and FPV drones. Everything is under the control of our Defence Forces. Even if some groups manage to cross in numbers of 8 or 10 people, only 2-3 of them manage to reach the shore. The enemy is destroyed there," Voloshyn stated.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, also reported that the Russians are crossing on boats to the right bank of the Oskil in the Kupyansk area, but Ukrainian defenders are destroying such groups.
"Yes, these facts do exist. These are constant sabotage and reconnaissance groups testing the defensive positions of our servicemen, using different tactics. They cross the Oskil by boats and go through minefields. Our warriors detect all these attempts and try to destroy the enemy as much as possible on the approaches to Kupyansk and other areas. Active battles have been ongoing for the second day in this direction," he said.
