President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his address, stated that during the meeting with EU commissioners in Kyiv, the issue of inviting Ukraine to NATO was discussed.
According to him, this can become an important step in strengthening Ukraine’s positions in any negotiations regarding the end of the war.
The head of state emphasized that membership in the Alliance is crucial for ensuring a just peace. He also stressed that an invitation to NATO could serve as a guarantee to prevent future aggressions. This position is part of a strategic plan that Zelensky is discussing with international partners to restore stability in the region.
Moreover, Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine will never agree to any compromise proposals regarding partial NATO membership. At the same time, an invitation to the Alliance should be established as a key security guarantee for Ukraine and Europe as a whole.
These statements were made on the eve of important meetings in preparation for the NATO summit, as well as in the context of discussions about further support for Ukraine from the EU and the international community.
