Young men aged 17 are planned to be automatically placed on military registration

The Verkhovna Rada approved in the first reading a draft law through which citizens of Ukraine will be automatically registered for military service upon reaching the age of 17.

This was reported by the Minister of Defence, Rustem Umyerov, on Facebook.

According to the draft law, young men will no longer need to contact the territorial recruitment and social support center or undergo a medical examination. Instead, it will be sufficient to complete the identification in "Reserve+," after which the application will automatically generate a military registration document.

"This is another step in transferring military registration to a convenient digital format. We are making state services as accessible and transparent as possible for Ukrainians," Umyerov emphasized.

He thanked the members of parliament for "supporting this important initiative."
