Russian occupiers managed to enter the territory of Sumy region

According to the DeepState map data, Russian forces have breached the border in the Sumy region near the village of Oleksandriia. This area is located in the direction of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Kursk bridgehead.

The spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, commented on the situation, noting that this area has a difficult swampy terrain. According to him, this is the reason for the lack of significant holding of this area by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Demchenko added that due to the terrain features, the Russians will not be able to use this bridgehead for further large-scale offensives.

Additionally, the DeepState map shows that Russian forces have advanced in the area of the village of Plekhove in the Kursk region. Currently, Ukrainian forces control only part of the settlement. Russian sources claim that the village is under full control of their troops.

The situation in the region remains tense, but the Ukrainian command is refraining from detailed comments on what is happening.
