The Ukrainian forces successfully launched a counterattack north of Toretsk in the Donetsk region. They liberated several positions near the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal.
Details of the operation were shared by press officer of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, Yevhen Alkhymov, on "Suspilne. Studio".
"Our units conducted assault actions, particularly the special battalion ’Shkval’, formed from former prisoners. They performed excellently at the tactical level to level positions and improve our situation. They stormed enemy positions and recaptured them," Alkhymov reported.
The brigade’s press officer also spoke about the current situation in the Toretsk direction. He noted that near Toretsk, the occupiers hardly use armored vehicles for attacks on Ukrainian positions. They mainly send infantry for assaults, and also shell Ukrainian positions with artillery and attack using drones.
