The Air Force reported how many "shaheds" Russia launched overnight.
Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with 81 drones overnight on January 4. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Shaheds" and various types of imitation UAVs flew from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
"As of 09:00, the downing of 34 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and other drones in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions has been confirmed," the report states.
The air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, due to the active opposition of the Defence Forces, 47 enemy imitation UAVs were location-lost (without negative consequences).
However, the downed UAVs caused damage in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions – private homes were damaged. Assistance is being provided to the affected individuals.
