The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) of Ukraine has chosen a preventive measure for the acting head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine — bail in the amount of 60,560 UAH. Currently, this position is held by Serhiy Zvyahintsev. He is accused of not declaring real estate near Kyiv.
On January 10, the decision of the HACC was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). It is noted that the set amount of bail is the maximum allowed by law for this crime. The court has also imposed procedural obligations on the suspect, but SAPO does not specify what exactly they are.
"On January 10, 2025, the investigating judge of the HACC supported the position of the SAPO prosecutor and chose a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of 60,560 UAH for the acting head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, suspected of deliberately entering knowingly false information," the SAPO statement said.
Let’s recall, as part of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the chief customs officer did not declare information in the declarations for 2021-2023 about a residential building with an area of 236.8 square meters and a land plot near Kyiv where this house is located. According to the investigation, the property is worth over 100,000 USD.
The investigation also established that the official registered the house and land in the name of his wife’s father. At the same time, SAPO claims that the actual owner is the acting head of the State Customs Service and his family.
The suspicion was announced on January 6 under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — "Declaration of inaccurate information." This offense is punishable by:
a fine of 51,000 to 68,000 UAH; or community service for a term of 150 to 240 hours; or restriction of freedom for up to 2 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
