The UAV attack in Russian Kstovo was an operation by the DIU, - Media


On the night of January 29, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) successfully attacked the Lukoil oil terminal in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia. All four drones reached their targets.

This was reported by sources at RBC-Ukraine in the Defence Intelligence (DIU) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The oil terminal was hit around midnight local time.

Eyewitnesses reported at least three explosions at the site of the facility. Meanwhile, sources mention four strikes at the oil terminal.

As a result of the attack, the facility sustained significant damage, as all four drones reached their targets.

According to Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, the affected oil base is capable of processing from 15 to 17 million tons of oil annually, making it the fourth largest in Russia. He particularly noted its importance for the enemy’s army.

He added that the oil base produces:

gasoline; diesel; aviation kerosene; bitumen.
