Russia launched 55 drones at Ukraine: Air Defence Forces shot down 40 targets


The aggressor country, Russia, launched an attack on Ukraine with more than half a hundred strike and simulation UAVs on the night of February 2. The sky defenders destroyed 40 enemy targets, and over a dozen more were lost from the location.

This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the debris falling during the attack, which lasted from 9:00 PM the previous day, Kharkiv and Sumy regions were affected.

The enemy used 55 Shahed strike drones and various types of simulation UAVs from the directions of Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia). The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9:00 AM, the destruction of 40 enemy drones in ten regions is confirmed: Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa.

In addition, 13 Russian simulation UAVs were lost from the location – without negative consequences.

A large-scale fire broke out in the center of Kharkiv due to the drone attack. In Lyubotyn, Kharkiv region, a man and a woman were injured, and a private house was damaged due to a hit by an enemy UAV.

In the Sumy region, anti-aircraft gunners shot down 13 drones. Meanwhile, in the Sadivska community, an enemy UAV attacked residential buildings.
