The new law established a requirement for those with limited fitness to undergo a repeat medical examination by June 5 of this year.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law that extends the deadline for undergoing the military medical commission (MMC) for citizens who have limited fitness. This is evidenced by data on the Verkhovna Rada’s website on Thursday, February 13.
As is known, the reason for extending the deadlines was that for eight months after the previous law took effect, only 25% of citizens with limited fitness underwent a repeat medical examination. This made it impossible to meet the requirement of the law within the specified period.
The new law, approved by parliament yesterday, established a requirement for those with limited fitness to undergo a repeat medical examination by June 5, 2025.
Recall that in 2024, Ukraine abolished the status of "limited fitness" for military service. Because of this, citizens who had this status were required to undergo the MMC again by February 4, 2025, and obtain one of four statuses:
fit (with specification of the type of service); unfit (with the possibility of review in 6-12 months); requires treatment (leave or inpatient treatment); temporarily unfit (with the appointment of a date for a repeat examination).
