Shooting down drones over the Chernobyl Territory is prohibited: Russia violated the agreement

At the press conference regarding the Russian attack on the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, shocking data were presented. If the drone had fallen a few dozen meters to the side, the consequences would have been much worse.

Details are reported by Channel 24.

Russia directed a drone straight at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant on the night of February 14. The world is outraged by this, while Kremlin propaganda, as always, claims that Ukraine is provoking and that everything is falsified. Although there are photos of the drone debris, clearly showing the inscription "Geran."

Representatives of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the State Emergency Service stated that drones cannot be shot down over the nuclear plant.

This is more a matter for the military, but there is an agreement that drones are not shot down over nuclear infrastructure objects,– according to the statement.

It is known that the drone hit the outer roof, pierced it, and fell onto a garage for maintenance systems. There, it exploded. So the explosion occurred inside the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

If the UAV had fallen 15 – 20 meters to the side, it would have hit the old shelter that has been around for 40 years. Russia is putting all of Europe and the world at nuclear risk.

For reference, the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant was shut down in 2000. In 2010, construction began on a new safe confinement, a new protective shield over the "Shelter" or "Sarcophagus" object, which existed since 1986. The work was completed in 2019. This arch is clearly visible in all photos from Chornobyl.

According to experts, the radiation level is normal. However, a hit to the sarcophagus would lead to its increase.
