The completion of the construction of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant will enhance energy security not only for Ukraine but for the entire European region.
This was emphasized by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during his speech at the 61st Munich Security Conference on February 15.
"We are currently preparing a project to expand our Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant with the involvement of American business, particularly the Westinghouse company. Just before flying to Munich, I visited the plant. This project will strengthen the energy security not only of Ukraine but of the entire European region," the country’s leader stressed.
He emphasized that in the conditions of constant Russian attacks on the energy sector, nuclear energy plays a key role in maintaining the country’s viability.
According to the President, nuclear energy was one of the topics discussed during a phone conversation with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
