At the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, three more smoldering spots have been detected: they are being eliminated by climbers

Measures to eliminate the consequences of the recent drone strike have resumed at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. New smoldering hotspots have been discovered there.

This was announced by the State Agency for the Management of the Exclusion Zone on Facebook.

"Works to extinguish the fire have resumed: three smoldering hotspots have been recorded. Two groups of climbers, with four people each, are working there, while the third group is being secured for the partial dismantling of shelter structures and extinguishing of smoldering hotspots," the message states.

Working lines have been laid for five shafts, and the situation is being monitored using thermal imaging drones. A total of 91 personnel from the State Emergency Service and 18 units of equipment have been deployed.

There has been no recorded deterioration of the radiation environment at the NSC site or generally at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant. No release of radioactive materials beyond the established limits has been detected.

Meanwhile, the State Emergency Service has released new photos and videos from the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

"Currently, three groups of climbers are partially dismantling shelter structures and extinguishing 3 smoldering hotspots in the roof insulation," the message states.
