The Russian army does not abandon its plans to capture Pokrovsk, despite losses and successful counterattacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by the spokesman of the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia," Viktor Trehubov, during a telethon broadcast.
Last week, Ukrainian military conducted several counterattacks, pushing the Russians out of the village of Pishchane, located three kilometers from Pokrovsk.
"The enemy has not given up the idea of capturing Pokrovsk. They received orders to reach the borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the Russian command is executing it at any cost, regardless of losses,” Trehubov reported.
According to the spokesperson, the intensity of the battles sometimes decreases, but this does not mean that the enemy has abandoned the assault on the city.
"They are trying to find new tactics to avoid failing the entire operation. However, their losses are increasing, which affects their ability to continue fighting,” Trehubov explained.
