As a result of shelling by Russian forces in the border communities of Sumy region, one person was killed and five others were injured.
This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
"On February 24, 2025, throughout the day, the occupiers shelled the border communities in the Sumy region from various types of weapons. According to preliminary data, guided aerial bombs were dropped on civilian infrastructure in the village of Myropillia in the Sumy district. A couple of pensioners, both 69 years old, and a 71-year-old man were injured," the statement said.
The occupiers also shelled an agricultural enterprise in the village of Shevchenkove, Velykopysarivka community, Okhtyrka district, with artillery. A 44-year-old worker was killed, and two others were injured.
It is reported that under the procedural guidance of the Sumy District Prosecutor’s Office and the Okhtyrka District Prosecutor’s Office, pre-trial investigations are being conducted into the commission of war crimes. Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement officers, are documenting the aftermath of the shelling.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Sumy District Police Department and the Okhtyrka District Police Department of the National Police in the Sumy region.
Previously, it was reported that from the border area of Sumy region, the "White Angels" evacuated a mother with three children and took them to a safe place.
