The United Kingdom may deploy a military contingent to Ukraine after reaching a peaceful resolution with Russia. British soldiers will contribute to ensuring the implementation of the agreement and strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities.
The support will be comprehensive, including active military presence in the air and on the ground. This was stated by Prime Minister Keir Starmer during the summit on Ukraine, held in London on March 2, according to Sky News.
"We will immediately enhance our assistance, including with aircraft in the air and troops on the ground," Starmer said.
According to the British politician, to ensure stability, it is necessary to involve a broad coalition of countries willing to guarantee peace in Ukraine in case an agreement is reached.
Separately, Starmer emphasized the importance of support from the United States, as peace on the European continent depends on international cooperation. He noted that he had already discussed this issue with President Donald Trump, and they agreed on the necessity of achieving lasting peace.
"We are working with the US on this issue following my meeting with President Donald Trump this week. And let me be clear: we agree with the President on the urgent need for a durable peace," the official stated.
