Law enforcement officers have opened a criminal case against the brigadier general responsible for the actions of the 23rd rifle battalion on the Kharkiv front, Suspilne reports.
According to the investigation, the commander did not conduct a personnel rotation for over a year, which led to the critical exhaustion of the soldiers. The exhausted unit was sent on an assault that ended in tragedy: over 20 soldiers were killed, and another 80 were wounded.
An investigation is currently underway, and the military command promises to review all the circumstances of this case.
