A prosecutor from the district prosecutor’s office in Lviv has been exposed for demanding 5,000 dollars from a local resident.
He promised not to hold her accountable for fraud amounting to 400,000 hryvnias.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the official was caught "red-handed." He has already been charged with extortion and bribery.
The case is being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine. The court will soon choose a preventive measure for the detained individual. Under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the prosecutor faces 5 to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
