800 thousand to the state, 2 million to the Armed Forces: Deputy Demchak got off with a suspended sentence


The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) approved an in absentia plea agreement with former Member of Parliament Ruslan Demchak. He is currently abroad and on the wanted list. The politician reimbursed 800,000 UAH and committed to transferring an additional 2 million UAH to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Demchak was sentenced in absentia to 3 years of suspended imprisonment with a probation period of 1 year. He was also assigned additional penalties in the form of a 17,000 UAH fine and disqualification from holding positions in government bodies for 1 year.

Recall that Demchak was accused of illegally receiving compensation for renting accommodation in the capital while owning a mansion near Kyiv.
