DIU: Russians have begun equipping "Shaheds" with new protection against EW

The Russian Federation has reduced the use of American components in the CRP antennas for "Shahed" drones, which are used for attacks on Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine (DIU). The agency published information about nearly 200 new parts and components in six types of weapons of the Russian Armed Forces.

According to the DIU, in 2025, new jamming-resistant antennas with Chinese labeling were discovered in the "Shaheds." In one of these antennas, out of 15 components, only two were produced by American companies — Texas Instruments and Linear Technologies.

"This indicates an attempt by Russia to reduce its dependence on components from countries that have imposed sanctions against it," noted the DIU.

The majority of other parts, such as transceivers, generators, and signal converters, are produced in China. For example, the main chip of the CRP antenna, which processes incoming signals and determines which ones to ignore, is manufactured by Beijing Microelectronics Technology Institute (BMTI).

A component of Indian manufacture was also found in Russian armament for the first time — a clock buffer from Aura Semiconductor.
