The Telegram channel «VChK-OGPU» might have been deleted due to unauthorized access, as mentioned in Telegram’s response to a query from Russian media.
«The channel was deleted by its owner, possibly as a result of unauthorized access,» the press service of the messenger reported.
Telegram stated that they are conducting an investigation.
The «VChK-OGPU» team called the Telegram press service’s statement about their non-involvement in the channel’s disappearance a «lie.» «The channel was deleted directly by Telegram. The account managing it was also blocked by Telegram. Telegram has still not responded to dozens of our messages to clarify the situation. We remind you, along with VChK-OGPU, about a dozen other channels disappeared — and all of them demanded removal at the request of the Russian authorities. Apparently, they also deleted themselves,» wrote the administrators in the reserve channel of «VChK-OGPU.»
The «VChK-OGPU» channel disappeared on Monday night. The channel team stated that it was removed by Telegram’s administration at the request of the Russian authorities.
