Roman Nasirov taken into custody: HACC changed the preventive measure

The High Anti-Corruption Court decided to take the former head of the State Fiscal Service, Roman Nasirov, into custody, choosing a stricter preventive measure for him.

The court also set an alternative — a bail of 40 million hryvnias.

Nasirov is involved in a case of large-scale corruption. According to the investigation, he allegedly received over 722 million hryvnias in bribes through his advisor as an intermediary, in exchange for facilitating the VAT refund to an agricultural holding worth over 3.2 billion hryvnias.

On April 9, the former official did not appear in court, citing mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the next day, the Military Law Enforcement Service reported that the order for his conscription was canceled. After this, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office filed a motion to strengthen the preventive measure, which the court granted.
