The Deputy Mayor of Lozova in Kharkiv region, Oleksiy Korpan, has not returned from a business trip to the Czech Republic and is out of contact.
This was confirmed in a video address on Facebook by the city mayor, Serhiy Zelenskyy.
“It’s the third day of uncertainty, rumors are spreading about my deputy Oleksiy Korpan, allegedly that he fled abroad. So I would like to inform: at the beginning of May, he went on a business trip to the Czech Republic for the purpose of cooperation and providing our community with equipment for primary healthcare. Since the seventh, he has been out of contact. Yesterday, he appeared on other (social, - ed.) networks. He does not answer calls,” Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, law enforcement will evaluate the official’s actions.
“Undoubtedly, if he betrayed our state - I can’t comprehend it, - law enforcement agencies will deal with this matter. Everything will be within the legal framework,” Zelenskyy stated.
Oleksiy Korpan is the Deputy Mayor of Lozova responsible for the activities of the executive bodies of the council. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2018, he was the head of the Panyutyne village.
