Belgium plans to provide Ukraine with an aid package worth one billion euros


Belgium is preparing to provide Ukraine with a military aid package worth one billion euros.

As reported by "Suspilne" with reference to Belgian media, the package will include various weapons and military equipment. In particular, 100 armored ambulances and Unimog transport vehicles, as well as anti-aircraft systems, will be delivered.

The country’s Ministry of Defence stated that aid worth 645 million euros originates from Belgium.

Ukraine can expect the "rapid" delivery of about 100 armored ambulances and Unimog transport vehicles.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive 5 unmanned maritime vessels and other drones, helmets, medical equipment, portable drone detection systems, night vision goggles, and protective clothing against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.

More than 16,000 units of weapons and guns will also be supplied, as well as 20 upgraded Cerberus-type anti-aircraft systems and a Leopard battle tank with an upgraded gun turret for testing.

Belgium plans to invest in the training of Ukrainian technicians for the maintenance of F-16 aircraft within the coalition in cooperation with the Belgian defence industry. Furthermore, the country supports the launch of production facilities for manufacturing 70 mm caliber rockets in Ukraine in cooperation with local companies. Software is also provided.
