Sweden provides Ukraine with more than 410 million euros to strengthen defence

Sweden allocates approximately 4.8 billion Swedish kronor (over €410 million) to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capability. The funds will support multilateral defense initiatives within the framework of the 19th aid package approved by the Riksdag.

This is stated in a press release from the Ministry of Defence of Sweden.

In particular, the funding will support several coalitions within the Ukraine Defence Contact Group:

The Demining Coalition – 100 million kronor for equipment and protection.

The Drone Coalition – 300 million kronor for unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Maritime Coalition – 50 million kronor for training the Ukrainian Navy.

The IT Coalition – 30 million kronor for the development of the situational awareness system DELTA.

Additionally:

Over 1 billion kronor – for purchases from the Ukrainian defense industry under the "Danish model".

418 million kronor – for armored vehicles for ground forces, in cooperation with Denmark, the Baltics, and Nordic countries.

550 million kronor – to the Czech initiative for ammunition procurement.

546 million kronor – to the Estonian equivalent initiative.

Over 1 billion kronor – for air defense systems and long-range drones.

Defence Minister Pal Jonson stated that this will strengthen both the Ukrainian army and the defence industry in confrontation with the Russian Federation.
