Visible are four destroyed Tu-95s: Satellite images of the "Olenya" airfield have been published

At least four Tu-95 bombers and one An-12 military transport aircraft were destroyed as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack on the Olenya military airfield in the Murmansk region on June 1.

This information is based on satellite images presented on June 4 by the OSINT project AviVector, which specializes in aerodrome analysis.

In an image taken by Airbus Defence and Space on June 3, three destroyed Tu-95s and one An-12 are clearly visible, with another Tu-95 in the distance.

Other images of the airfield show additional aircraft and helicopters, including the supersonic Tu-22 bomber, which were not damaged in the attack.

Before the publication of the satellite images, OSINT analysts based on available video footage had estimated that between three and five strategic aviation aircraft were destroyed at the Olenya airfield.

After the Ukrainian special services operation "Spider Web" on June 1, satellite images of another airfield, Belya in the Irkutsk region, emerged. They show that at least six strategic aviation aircraft were destroyed there.

Overall, as part of the "Spider Web" operation, the Security Service of Ukraine attempted to attack four aerodromes on Russian territory – besides Olenya and Belya, these were Ivanovo-North in the Ivanovo region and Dyagilevo in the Ryazan region. However, according to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Russian military forces repelled the attack on the latter two aerodromes. No video recordings of the aftermaths of the attacks there are available. Satellite images of Dyagilevo show no serious damage to the airbase following the Ukrainian attack.

The Ukrainian government claims that over 40 Russian aircraft were destroyed during the "Spider Web" operation. No independent confirmations of these figures have been found.
