As of April 2025, about 6.9 million Ukrainians are outside Ukraine. These data were released by the National Bank of Ukraine in the June macroeconomic and monetary review, citing the UN.
Since the beginning of the year, another 100,000 people have left the country.
At the same time, as of March, 3.8 million internally displaced persons live in Ukraine, which is 188,000 more than at the beginning of the year. Another 4.1 million people have returned to their permanent places of residence.
The largest number of IDPs is concentrated in the Dnipropetrovsk (16%) and Kharkiv (12%) regions. According to the NBU, more than half of the internally displaced persons (52%) come from territories that were fully or partially occupied at the time of data collection.
