The EU Council supported the extension of temporary protection for Ukrainians until 2027

The Council of the European Union unanimously supported the decision to extend the temporary protection program for refugees from Ukraine until March 4, 2027.

This was officially announced on the agency’s website.

At the same time, Poland initiated a discussion on a strategy for the gradual phasing out of this program after the establishment of a "just peace."

“In the near future, we will work on joint solutions at the EU level, particularly regarding the return of Ukrainians to their homeland,” stated Poland’s Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak.
